Deciding how your children will live, relate to you, and function after a divorce or separation can be one of the most difficult aspects of the divorce and separation process.
At the Center, we are committed to helping couples identify and develop the best solutions for them, their children and their ongoing relationships. Additionally, we can address post-decree issues such as parenting time, parental responsibility, and child support modifications, without costly litigation through the use of dispute resolution techniques such as mediation.
In Colorado, a Parenting Plan is developed which addresses the needs of the children whether or not the children are a result of a marriage. The Parenting Plan deals with such areas as where the children will be living, what the visitation (parenting time) schedule looks like, how major life decisions regarding the children are made and who is responsible for those decisions (parental responsibility), how expenses for the children will be paid, and child support (who, if anyone, will pay, how much, how and when).
At the Center, we work with parents to find the best solution for them to address all of their concerns, their children's concerns and well-being, and to ensure the best possible arrangements and relationships for their individual situation. Center mediators work with the parties to determine and develop the Parenting Plan and to produce the paperwork necessary for the parties to get a court order formalizing the agreed-upon arrangements
